Welcome back to school, we hope you all had a wonderful, relaxing Christmas break.
The first week back after a long holiday is always tough. It can be a little difficult to get back into the routine after such a long break and a few tears and extra hugs are sometimes needed. Most of the children were straight back into the swing of things, running into the classroom, happy to see their friends again.
This week, we have started our new transport unit. We have initially focused on some of the more common methods of transport and where we would find them, for example, helicopters go in the sky. We have also focused on counting to ten, and making sure these words are associated with an actual number of something. It is important that the concept of numbers is reinforced rather than just rote learning a set of new words.
We have also restarted our afternoon and morning sessions in then library and doing PE. It is great to see positive exercise and reading habits are being developed by everyone!
We are hosting our parent teacher conferences next week. If you still need to make an appointment, please let a member of the Raptors team know your preferred date and time. Thank you, we look forward to sharing the exciting news of your child’s progress.
We look forward to seeing you next week.
Enjoy your weekend!
